Thank you Erwin and all the DrukAsia team for such a memorable trip.
I booked a six-day Sketching Tour hosted by Singapore artist and educator Erwin Liam and organized by DrukAsia. I was able to combine two of the things I love most -traveling and sketching- while visiting one of the most unique countries on earth. The organization, even before starting the trip, was very well handled. I received information about the country, what to pack, trip program, materials provided, etc. This really helped to be even more excited about my visit to Bhutan.
The trip itself went flawlessly. DrukAsia's crew was really kind, supportive and knowledgeable. The hotels' selection and the food were also superb. But the most special part was how carefully Erwin organized the program and devoted to allowing us to have a wonderful time, not only with his lessons (he is really passionate about teaching and sharing his knowledge) but the several opportunities to interact with local people and artists. As a matter of fact, the Bhutanese artist, Rajesh (Jampel Cheda), accompanied us during the whole trip and we had a total blast with him. He is not only a great artist and teacher but he made us laugh the whole trip with his unique sense of humor. He was also very generous sharing his knowledge and never got tired of helping us out.
A special mention to our guide, Kuenzang. His insights about history, religion, architecture and any other annoying question we had about Bhutan, made our trip more interesting and enriching. Moreover, he ended up being a great sketcher himself!
